Founded in 1983, the International Language Institute (ILI) is one of Nova Scotia's oldest language schools. Since 1983, thousands of international and Canadian students have chosen ILI to learn French, prepare for university, or pursue professional goals. Many have come to take French proficiency exams. Here are some highlights:
ILI is a Designated Learning Institution (DLI) under the new Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) regulations. This designation allows ILI to issue Letters of Acceptance (LA) to international students for long-term study in Canada.
In 2005, ILI received the Canadian Language Council's highest distinction, the Lynn Howes Award, for the quality and innovation of its language training programs and services.
ILI leaders have played various key roles in the development of the language training sector in Canada.
