Refund Policies

Below you will find the refund policies. Read them carefully. If you want a refund, please send us an email requesting the refund and the reason at study@ili.ca. We will send you a Request for Refund that you will have to fill.

A. Refunds Before You Begin Studies at ILI

  1. You qualify for a full refund of your pre-paid tuition only if you have been denied authorization to study in Canada and provide documentation from the proper Canadian authority stating that your application to study in Canada was denied for non-personal reasons.
    Non personal reasons includes:
    • i. “As stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, the purpose of the applicant’s visit which is not met.”
    • ii. “As stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, the applicant’s personal assets and financial status which is not met.”
    • iii. “As stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, the government does not believe that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay.”
  2. For any other reasons, no refunds

These refunds apply to tuition only. If you have paid ILI directly, ILI will take care of your refund. If you used an ILI agent, and you paid the ILI fees to your agent, contact the agent first to get your refund. ILI does not refund the discounted portion of tuition pre-paid to an agent. There will be a $200 administration fee to process the refund.

If you choose to live with a host family, the first two weeks of homestay is non-refundable.

B. Refunds On and After your First Day at ILI

  1. Fees for the University Pathway programs(which include level 600AP and level 700UP) are non-refundable.
  2. Application fees, Host family Placement fee are non-refundable. The next four weeks of host family fees are non-refundable.
  3. For up to 10% of completion of a program (except UP), 50% of unused tuition fees
  4. For 11% to 30% of completion of a program (except UP), 30% of unused tuition fees
  5. For 31% or more of completion of a program (except UP), no refund.

To be eligible for a refund,

  1. You must give a written notice at least two weeks in advance
  2. If you used an ILI agent and you paid the ILI fees to your agent, contact the agent directly.

C. You do not qualify for a refund if

  1. You have been put on probation by the Director of Studies, or
  2. You are required to withdraw from ILI for reasons of inappropriate, unacceptable, or aggressive personal behaviour,or
  3. ILI has issued a letter on your behalf for the purposes of renewing your authorization to study in Canada, or
  4. You have missed or have been late for classes numerous times, and you have been warned many times and these absences and lateness are for reasons that are within your control, including cultural adjustment, or
  5. You brought alcohol and/or recreational drugs or illegal drugs on ILI premises or during school activities, or
  6. You were in possession of firearms, toy guns, knives or any other deadly weapons or hazardous chemicals on the ILI campus or during school activities, or
  7. You have cheated on any work, tests, quizzes, or exams.

Please note: ILI requires at least two months to process a refund.
